RESPONSIVE WEB APP

Transforming the way individual ideas shape collective action. Making mindful leadership the new standard through blockchain voting.

Project

Horizon State has identified the need for organisations to move towards a more inclusive and responsive community engagement style.

While organisations often do their best to engage their customers and members, they are hampered by having to work with an outdated set of tools and processes, which often results in a lack of trust and necessary buy-in required for genuine community input and end-user engagement to achieve broader organisational goals.

02

Immersion

To understand the needs a community may have and the tools required to facilitate decision-making we worked closely with one of the communities hoping to utilise the platform - MiVote.

MiVote is a democratic organisation aiming to engage and educate people on different political directions and facilitate democratic voting.

We began by speaking to MiVote users and new users. The research helped us to identify several archetypes and understand who our MVC (Minimum Viable Customer) would be.

The design process entailed mapping out user flows and several design reviews and iterations with the internal and external stakeholders. Once we were happy with the overall user journey the development team was briefed to begin building the framework while UX and Design teams worked closely to prototype, test, and iterate the designs. User feedback was then looped back into the development sprints to further refine the design.

  1. Streamlining the process of casting a vote on the blockchain.
  2. Building trust along the journey, learning about what are the crucial trust points and serving the right action or content at those points.
  3. Building a content framework that allows for large amounts of copy without overwhelming the user.
  4. Identifying user archetypes and catering the overall experience to suit the different needs.

In November 2018 Horizon State has successfully launched MVP version of the service onboarding their first customers. The platform is intended to be used by large and small communities, from a local soccer team making internal decisions to a goverment party fostering more transparency and collaboration.

Built with enterprise, community groups and local government in mind, Horizon State provides a set of surveying and polling tools to capture collective opinions and distill them into actionable insights.

The platform provides a safe and secure online place for sharing information and contributing to the decision-making process.
